Freelance Friday #1

Courtesy of  yourteenbusiness.com

So even though I have been multi-tasking and trying to get this Freelance Friday thing going I decided I would look deeper into what it entails. I'm sure you're thinking that it's pretty self explanatory. What I've found though so far is that there is so much out there and so many people that Freelance in so many different fields.

Usually when I here the word I automatically think of artists, writers, photographers ect. I've seen so many people take their hobbies and passions turning them into something bigger than they expected and although they are, they don't use the title of being a freelance anything.

What I'd like to do is create something to showcase those people. The ones that have built something for themselves and are sought after for their skills but that only answer to themselves well...and their clients.

Better yet the ones that don't answer to them either as I know there are more than a few of those. So with this I've now added even more to my plate but always aim to add something mildly entertaining and with this segment hoping to add something beautiful too.

Suggestions are always welcome!

Have a Happy Friday

Life Happens In Between

Morning Lovelies!

Another weekend gone in a flash and being busy this weekend made it go by even faster.

Friday night was Deadpool night and it was one of the funniest movies I've seen since...I don't even know when. Ryan Reynolds was perfect for the role and everything from the opening credits to the end cut scene had the theater rolling in laughter. Except for the four guys in our row that fell asleep, including one of my own but it was well worth it. Some say it was lacking action but as far as I'm concerned it really wasn't. The action scenes that were there were spectacular so I have no complaints. It definitely deserved the R rating and anyone that has seen it will look at holidays in a whole new way.

A WHOLE NEW WAY! Especially International Woman's Day.

The entire cast and the jokes at Marvels expense as well as Hugh Jackman were perfect and understood by any loyal Marvel fan.

I loved seeing Colossus but I have to say that one character they haven't shown enough is Gambit. Growing up with the comics he was one of my fav's and we got a brief glimpse of him in Wolverine but not enough of the Cajun.

Next up Batman vs. Superman next month and movies lined up until August so far.

And Ummmm...The Walking Dead??? There are no words for the episode except for FAN-TASTIC. Again I was screaming at my TV in shock and awe and the constant need to put Glenn in danger! Stop that we can't take it!

The thought that goes into the making of that show for our entertainment and seriously making us find the hidden meanings and treasures within each episode is mind boggling but so appreciated for all of the work the creators, cast and crew that bring it to us.

Changing directions now.

T is coming home this week so we've been getting ready for her homecoming. By getting ready I mean cleaning out the crap in her room that we dumped there because we didn't actually think she was coming home after she moved out, so boxes were packed and will be heading out to storage, cobwebs dusted...who am I kidding we don't dust the cobwebs. I'll Swiffer vac the ceiling every once in a while because everyone else is creeped out by them. It is really crazy though at how many cobweb spiders we have. I sucked up 23 one day from just the upstairs dark corners and yet there are always at least 2 I leave alone in the kitchen so they can eat the fruit flies because fruit flies are the most annoying tiny creatures next to ants, and they will attack...I've seen it.

It's pretty much been Spring cleaning around the house the past few weeks or... really all of this year so far with progress being made in slow strides because life happens in between it all. With so much to do and motivation being drained at every turn. There are not enough days in the week to get it all done, at least not in the Winter. The daylight is starting to grow longer now and the rain is ever prominent yet it's all a sign of better and brighter days ahead.

Once the RRSP season is over I can begin the Freelance Friday project that I've been working on and get back to writing since my characters have been on the back burner for the past little while as I work on some of my own issues. family, trusting things in front of me and being able say how I feel, fight and retain enough of myself to look past my own flaws without having a large impact on the people around me.

Anyway that last little blurb was unexpected but I told myself a long time ago that here I can say anything and if I wrote it felt it was relevant then I would keep it. My thoughts flow through my fingers as I type, I rarely backtrack or second guess what I write.

Still though I try to keep it light!

Well it's time to start this week and the next 2 weeks are going to be a stressful mess full people who I'm sure will annoy me at work and that could either lead to tears or a bath full of bubbles and a bottle of wine that I might not come out of.

So to all of the people in my life that I love so very much...be prepared it's going to be rough.

Have a great week!

See Ya
S.

Moon Rising and Freelance Friday

Hello Lovelies!

Well it's Sept 14th already and time keeps on moving on. Only 3 1/2 more months of this year left and I find that the last quarter of the year moves by really quickly but I'd appreciate those of you that are already Christmas shopping and caroling to stop until after Halloween! No countdowns yet and stop asking me what I want! I have no idea and never really do.

As Fall rolls in with it's promise of comfort and coziness, energy seems to be running full tilt getting ready to cocoon ourselves. With the Autumn Equinox on the 23rd the days are still very-warm but the nights are getting cooler. Darkness comes sooner and lasts longer but that's never bothered me. I'm ok with waking up and staring at the moon while she's still high in the sky looking down as she begins her rule for the next 6 or so months. Then again I'm a moon baby and even named my oldest after a Goddess of the moon.

The leaves are beginning to turn already and aside from them filling my gutters and creating problems with the water flow, the cooler outside just makes me happy for the warmer inside, I did what I'm hoping was the last cut of the year on my lawn which didn't take much because of the dry Summer. After a week of rain we had those green blades came back with a vengeance but were easily taken care of.

Now don't get me wrong...I like Summer, I do like the bright days and the sun shining and everything in bloom repeatedly but I hate being to hot to sleep and not being able to efficiently cool down and the bugs... I hate the bugs not all of them just the pain in the ass ones you know bees, flies, spiders actually the spiders don't bug me at all. No See Um's  and fruit flies are the devil.

With all that's been going on I typically have to pile more stuff on top of it all. What I had wanted to say on Friday but tripped down memory lane instead was this.

I have met over the years several local people with talents I would love to share with you from Artists and Photographers along with Musicians, Chef's and people that put their faith into their own ideas and make it work and other creative people that have the drive . People that are passionate about what they do and want some more exposure and that's when I came up with Freelance Friday. Each week I'd like to showcase someone and their work and conduct an interview...the only problem is that I don't know anything about interviewing except that when I've been interviewed, for me it was an awkward experience but that's ok! I have a plan for that.

I know how I want everything else to go though so I figured I would try a trial run using volunteers and I know who those people are even if they don't know yet! I am also determined for it to be a fun experience I can add to my list of things I have attempted. And I have not forgotten about those of you that have asked me to read, listen to or check out your passions it's just all a matter of getting it all organized and I'll be in touch with you guys too and might have some questions for you even though you're not local. Local is relative now though isn't it because it's so easy to reach out on a global level.

I should make a spreadsheet for all of that because there is so much to do and part of it is trying to get my office space sorted out and the space being a spare bedroom that has been used for storage and a crash space for visitors. It just needs to be set up right and once it is...well we'll see what happens.
