Haunted Places A Trip For Two

Hello Lovelies!

Trying to get back into making sure I'm here and present. It's tough sometimes trying to keep all of my Social Media updated and every now and then I just have to check out. I think part of it is because I haven't been using my blog journal that I just now remembered I haven't been using! I got so used to having it with me all the time so I could jot down notes for content and I really haven't had it for about 6 weeks now???

Holy crap where has my life gone???

So in a couple of weeks me and Blondunicorn are going to take an overnight trip to a Haunted place here in BC. We haven't locked down which one it will be yet but it's a plan in the works and I'm super stoked about it. So excited that I seriously just texted her to make sure we're still a go for that while I'm writing this.

Her response?? ABSOLUTELY!

Once I figure out where we're going I'll let you know. I'm pretty sure it will be towards the Okanagan because I don't want to go the other way. the Haunted Vancouver Island spots can wait for now.

So here are some of the most famous Haunted Places in BC

I'm thinking that the Tranquille Sanitorium might be the go to place to truly creep her out. We'll see how that goes. she wants to camp wherever we go for the night...I don't think she'll want to stay there but if we do...

So excited! I'll keep you up to date.

K Have a great week!

Short and Sweet That's How It Is.

Hello Lovelies!

How was your week?

Mine was good, well Saturday was kind of a blur  but I distinctly remember going our for dinner to our local PUB and feeling the floor shake from the excitement of the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals game. There were definitely more Packers fans in the PUB than Cards fans and I am not a Packers fan  but I felt for them in their defeat  as I clapped for the  Cards. I do love football even though it's been a long time since I have followed an entire season. I'll follow my teams progress but the Sunday game day ritual has been lost in the raising of my kids. That night though it felt good to be around people that were excited about the NFL Playoffs and reminded me of that part of me that's drifted away.

Sunday I went for lunch and a Matinee with one of my besties to see Daddy's Home . I hmmm and hawwwed at first because I'm not really a Will Ferrell Fan. I do watch his movies but it's less for him and more for those co-starring with him because he's one of the ones like Adam Sandler that was stuck doing the same types of movies but I love Adam Sandler either way though the movie was funnier than I thought it was going to be and I found myself laughing so hard at a few scenes that I couldn't breathe. It was good to have that time out with her for the afternoon.

My writing has been pretty solid and I'm proud of myself for that since distractions are constant. I have added a Book Tracking Tab above so that you can see which books I've read over the course of the year. I'm still finishing the list for 2015 properly because when I was tracking the books last year I didn't have them listed under the name of the book, more like the name of the series but anyway I'm still hoping that I can finish web story this year and begin the next one.

I can't even get into the deaths this month. The news is everywhere and anywhere and has saddened many hearts.

So short and sweet it is again as I head into the 3rd week of the season but I'll see you soon enough in  some capacity because some surprises are in store.

Possible a Puppy naming intervention and campaign (long story).

Happy Birthday to Blondunicorn! I have been tormenting her this morning with pics of her gift that she won't see until after midnight because she has a job that takes her normal days away. So far it's working and some of the guesses she's had have been down right scandalous.

Ok guys have a great week!

See Ya

The Fun Never Stops

Hello Lovelies!

Someone told me the other day that my life certainly isn't boring and it was like watching a movie as we caught up over lunch last week.

Let's just add to that shall we?

Last week I went to pay my gas bill, BU has it in her name so I ran out on my lunch break and loaded my prepaid Visa ( because credit cards are BAD...for me ) I come rushing back to the office and get BU on the phone so that I can give her the reference number so she can report the payment. I sit down and we set up an online account for her so that I can pay by credit card. Ok. Fine. Everything is ok so far until...I go to make the payment.

Why?

Because Fortis Gas DOES NOT TAKE VISA.

Now I'm stunned blinking at the screen and that quickly turns to rage...way too fast. The string of swear words I was throwing out there probably had a few co-workers cringing but who doesn't take Visa and I'd have to pay it through a 3rd party where they can charge you $7-50 as a processing fee! I won't pay by credit card now even if I could just for that reason alone.

So I breath repeatedly as BU is on the other end of the phone, confused and probably cringing herself or possibly laughing but still having my pissed of back as I curse the gas company to hell and back for making me waste my time and I'm losing my mind because this prepaid card is type where the money is on it and it stays there. Sure I can spend it but I can't get the lump sum off the card. No cash advances, it's just stuck so I have to go and pay it through online banking and that messed up a series of other things that I had budgeted specifically for.

Seeing red now because I had a plan. I had a plan and financially and I never have a plan. I can admit that. I will rob Peter to pay Paul but the money always goes where it's needed the most. I recently got the card so that I could do things a bit differently and shop for Xmas online so that I don't have my consumer rage kick in shopping at stores. Like yesterday at Shoppers Drug Mart where I glared at a lady so hard because she was just that sort of person who purposely took longer at the cashier asking stupid questions as a long line formed behind her not caring that there were people waiting.

Cue the colourful phrases again, that though is another story.

So I pay the gas bill and we have the heat going. ( we get it shut off every May to roughly Oct ) The fan on the furnace had been running all summer blowing cool air through the duct and thus keeping us a bit cooler. The gas guy said it was good that we left it on because it would keep the dust out of the vents. Well Yay for us...until yesterday, until the sound and shaking of the house made me feel like a small plane was hurtling towards us so I actually went outside to look.

K...cool...no planes falling from the sky so what the hell was that?

Choo came upstairs and asked me if I heard the noise. OF COURSE I HEARD IT! I thought we were all going to die! So I asked what it was...it was the furnace fan. Wobbling. Shaking the walls. Right underneath BU who slept through it like a champ considering her room is directly above the furnace.

Well, shit that means I might have to talk to my landlord and I never want to do that but Choo and a friend looked into it and we might be able to take care of it on our own. My fingers are crossed.

So with the rat and the flooding and now the furnace I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to make an offering to some higher power or a lower one if only that things just run smoothly for once at this time of year.

Speaking of the rat it set of the trap and left teeth marks in the bait the sly lil devil. If SHE keeps this up and I'm pretty sure its a she that one will end up with a name too I'll have to go get one of those humane traps where she goes in and doesn't get out. and relocate her and her potential offspring because it's a she.

Ok guys, have a great week!

See Ya.

Heart-wrenching and Heart Warming

Happy Monday!

Who am I kidding? I just can't get it together today but it is Monday so I'll conveniently blame that.

Warning...if you watch The Walking Dead and have not seen last night's episode there are spoilers below.

If you don't watch it...what is wrong with you!

Tough thing the Heart.

It takes so much abuse and is still the thing we have to contend with the most unless you have no conscience. Let's start with Heart-wrenching.

Well after having me scream at my TV last night while watching The Walking Dead I had to sit back down and say hmm... and then get told by Sese and Allan that read the comic books at 2 separate times that this had to happen. I don't know how many of you watch the show and have from the beginning but it is one of the most emotionally intense shows pretty much ever. I know there have been others but very few have that fully engaging aura that in a lot of cases makes you feel like you are actually there with them. I thought that when Hershel died it was tough and even Lori because it was such a sad sequence of events, Beth...ruined me too but Glenn... completely devastated me and felt so senseless at the same time! Nicholas really just finally succeeded in killing Glenn  (maybe) by snapping and turning a gun on himself just to have his dead weight body fall on Glenn and tip him over the edge and even though in my heart of hearts I am still hoping that those intestines were not Glenn's being consumed... he would not have made it out of that horde.

As The Talking Dead pointed out something I would not have noticed until I re-watched all of the seasons was when Glenn was telling Rick his plan he called him "Dumbass" which was what he called him the first time he spoke to him in Season 1 when Rick was trapped in the tank.

Full circle? I hope not but none the less it could be.

I do have to say I'm glad it wasn't comic book Glen's death because I might have broken something. Now Glen wasn't the only thing about the episode that had me on the edge of my seat. Rick running for the RV and what happened in the RV was crazy and you could see crazy on Rick's face. Is it time for his hand? Is it? We'll see after he makes it out of the horde he's surrounded by because after Glen...Rick will make it. Now with that being said we have no concrete evidence that Glenn is dead and every part of me hopes he can miraculously make it out and back t a waiting Maggie who has had her father and her sister taken from her. Hmm...both of them were taken from her by people not Walkers when you think about it.

Can I say that I feel like Darryl is underused right now and at what point did Morgan break off from them and go back to Alexandria during the Wolves attack? Next weeks episode is 90 mins and we'll finally get to see what Morgan has been through.

I can only hope to be able to write things as powerful as some of the things I have seen in the past and  now. That is a goal I strive to someday achieve.

Heart Warming time!

Ok so besides the shock of the week this past Sat we had Parker help out for his first Pumpkin Carving session or more for him his pumpkin colouring session. After I made sure his father stripped him down out of his brand new Spiderman PJ's, Peanut took a seat at the big table in the kitchen and eyed the 5 pumpkins in front of his big brown eyes he picked his pumpkin out and while Craig started the process of carving his pumpkin for him, P choose to colour mine instead and that was ok he's 2 1/2 so his way works and also funny as he tried to eat pumpkin guts and then put them back into my pumpkin while we were trying to get them out. Bean and Allan worked meticulously on theirs and Bean's turned out to be the most vicious looking one out of all of them. He was gross and sticky and it was awesome! Blondunicron held the speed record for carving as she was in, out and done in no time at all. So fun I was pleasantly tired afterwards!

Since mine was covered in Crayon it was carved later and placed with the rest but the gang did a good job!

I swear I'm going to get my costume post out before Halloween!

Have a great week!

You Know What Time It Is!

Happy day after Labour Day!

( Yes there is a u in there. )

So all the wee children are back to school today and doesn't that mess up things for everyone! Traffic and schedules being changed. On Sunday I went through Walmart with Blondunicorn and it was anarchy but I knew this before I went there and boy didn't a tiny part of me got all nostalgic about the first days of school for my kids and picking out books and pens and pretty girly stuff all pink and sparkly! Until your jammed up cart to cart with screaming 5-12 yr olds and then you think "Thank god that is over!"

I was all over it like most parents, cheering along side them happy for the "mom I'm bored" and "I don't want to go to bed at 8" arguments to be put in the suck it up category because I'm free of you now for a few hours! I feel for you guys but doesn't it screw up everything else? Buses that ran at certain times over the Spring and Summer have been shifted or completely removed from service, traffic crawls, and all the TV stations change their Logos. On the side though snack foods are much cheaper during the school year and that's right up my alley. I thought Sunday was bad well she had to go back there yesterday and 2 hrs of torture later she came home frazzled and in complete disarray wide eyed and in "I'm never doing that again mode."

With everything back to normal, the power grid back up and running and BC's Monsoon season coming up as Fall approaches...you know what this means...

My absolute FAVOURITE time of year is coming, I can feel the changes and that makes me very...very...excited. Now I'm not big on craft blogging but Bean has a rather large project or 10 she wants to do involving making a large mess on the Prop/Halloween side in the form of a 6 foot tall Reaper and comfort things on fall foods side so I'm thinking of running video for those projects instead so we'll see what happens. Bean and BU are Pintrest junkies so I'm sure they will have stuff on their...um...boards? Anyway The 3rd Annual Halloween Party, Fall returns and new shows... I love new shows!

Limitless
BlindSpot
Supergirl
Mr Robot
Gotham
The Bastard Executioner
SUPERNATURAL!
AHS
TWD

Can you tell the ones I'm excited to see?

On the writing front...I'm still progressing (ya me) and have made quite a few new friends along the way ( Thank you Twitter! ) I guess I should thank G+ as well although I find that it reminds me of Tumblr but more interactive if you choose to be in turn it's making me more comfortable in my writing skin even though I still have about 5 chapters of Revisions to go through and have been slacking on but I'm determined to get those done this week and as usual on Wednesdays I post the story progression on CF

Anyway guys it's a short one today lots to do lots to plan.

Video...oh boy

Have a great week!

Ramblings Of A Distracted Mind

Hello Lovelies!

I wasn't exactly sure where I wanted to go today for this post. So much has happened in the news and day to day life that I'm not sure where to start so I'm going to let my fingers ramble until I lock on to something.

It was nice to get some much needed rain this weekend! Yet I'm still baffled by the people next door to me that continue to water...their fence...their sidewalk...every f*****g day and consider that the restriction is not their problem. See how I did that? I'm being good (sort of) and semi censoring myself. Why? I  have no idea. Forest fire wise things were a little calmer this weekend.

The house next door is a drug rehab & half way house, 2 doors up we have and alcohol rehab & halfway house we are also being surrounded by assisted living homes and a CFL football player next door too makes it an interesting collage of people. Now the A rehab, their OK and keep to themselves, they used to have a guy that would sing at the top of his lungs every morning and night and he was awful at it but you get used to it and when it was gone I noticed. Mr. CFL, he is like a Ninja you don't see him or his family until they want to be seen and their really easy going. Until recently they thought there were only 3 people living in our house. There are 7 and a complete zoo but it's nice to know we stay under the radar. Assisted living... we've been there long enough for our little corner to become comic relief or drama central of sorts to them and we play a game with the bank of windows that faces us trying to figure out what their watching or even applaud when the old folks are dancing in full view. Many of them still got the moves.

The drug rehab...those guys...need to go if only because their complete rudeness and lack of oh I don't know morals or discretion just plain piss me off. A couple of them are ok and seriously want to get their act together and even one young kid comes over to borrow Choo's tools. At first I thought the kid might be casing the shop but he seems pretty shy and he brings whatever he takes back as soon as he's done with them. That, I can handle but it's the ones that think their tough first of all and that they're the shit and say things that make me want to throw stuff over the fence in hopes to hit one in the mouth especially if their talking trash in the vicinity of any of my girls. So besides them blatantly being loud assholes ( where did my semi censorship go? ) when they come across people they know that are in there with them it makes me feel like it's all for show and I think it's very true because one of those guys got kicked out recently not only for smoking something...in his bedroom but also breaching his parole as Blondunicorn got to see the action with the cops.

So from that constant distraction to trying to set up my writing space, the writing itself as my weekly posts come up every Wed and rewriting what was previously written. During the week, I'm a soldier at it but on the weekends it's a bit harder temporarily because I'm mildly obsessed with the book series I'm reading, it's more like consumed and forcing myself to put down the books is very, very difficult now once I'm done them that will be different and I feel like I'm rewarding myself if I make large strides with my own writing throughout the week.

So with that said and something random injected of me being completely stoked that I found Lita Ford on Twitter it was a good hard week and I'm all the better for it.

I even made myself sit in the car when we took a trip to Costco because...it would have been a bad thing for me to get out of the car...because it was Costco on a Sat morning and it was safer in the car for everybody else. I can't help it though I'm ok with crowds, we have a common goal, get in, buy stuff, you know but it's like stores need a fast and a slow lane and Costco has large lanes to begin with but more often than not there are 3 carts side by side and walking at an alarmingly slow speed. Annnnd...that sets me off as muttered curses are a constant until that one person stops dead in front of me and the curses aren't muttered anymore... they are focused. That's when BU and Sese step in grab me by the arms and shoulders to whisk me away. I just hate being delayed when I'm on a mission and to me shopping of any kind is a mission that takes prep.

BU was was thinking this time though she figured if we got coffee first I would be nice and calm and she told me that was the plan. I told her all she did was give me a weapon and as soon as we hit the parking lot I decided that staying in the car was a much better idea.

Ok I have rambled enough, my fingers have thrown up enough words here. Go about your day and have a great week!

See Ya!

Just Because It's Awesome.

Hello Lovelies!

I'm back from Vacation...sort of. I did have to come back to work for a day so that my co-worker could attend her daughters graduation...that she forgot about and asked at the last minute if I could come in, then it turned out that she had graduated the day before so she spent the day off taking her girl to get properly done up for her dinner dance. At least it was a Friday so I got to go into work in jeans.

I didn't do too much because it's been stupid hot and since they knocked the houses down behind us the heat is baking the yard. With the water restrictions being a bit heavier this year our back yard looks like a field of wheat that's been flattened like a crop circle. The nights are even worse though and sleeping solidly seems to be almost non existent and attempting to sleep in was not an option. The nights heat up it seems and if I was ok with bugs I'd just sleep out on the back porch because by 7pm outside is much cooler than inside. Unfortunately have you seen the shit that flies around at night besides the Bats? We have new, weird and strange bugs that like nighttime, our Hazelnut tree and that gives me the heebie jeebies.

So yesterday was Canada Day and we did our annual BBQ trying to keep it simple because of the heat but as every year we soak fruit in booze, put out the skewers and go for broke... after the meal of salads, burgers and hot dogs. This year it was Mango Splash Malibu that we doused our fruit salad with and it was pretty amazing! The usual suspects were there but we were missing a few that would normally be there but it was a good day! Unless you're Blondunicorn who decided we should have Mimosas but had never opened a Champagne bottle before and while my eyes were elsewhere she opened the bottle...straight up, not away from herself and got a cork in the lip...hard, splitting it and I wish I saw what she was doing so I could have warned her but you know what?

She'll never do that again now will she?

A few things about eating your alcohol is...

1) It's delicious
2) No hangover ( thank god )
3) The buzz is completely different
4) The socializing that happens as people enjoy it! It's brings us together as we discuss why the watermelon no matter what is always the fruit where the booze tastes the strongest.

Bean went all out with decorations, everything from $100 bill napkins to Canadian flag toothpicks, plates, tablecloth and a red and white packed with glitter top hat that had glitter EVERYWHERE and on everything. She loves her holidays that's for sure. There were firework restrictions too yesterday because it's been so dry but we could see a few rebels lighting them off from the back porch after the kids left to hunt down some they could watch traditionally.

All in all it was a good day, screaming hot but a good day! All we need is one day of rain...just one...full on downpour where I don't have to feel like the only relief would be stripping down naked and covering myself in an ice bath is my only recourse and yet I have to sleep with the covers on!

Ok guys, Have a great rest of the week!

Happy 4th coming for my US friends and family! I hope your day is as good as ours was!

See Ya

Monday And Motivated

Hello Lovelies!

It's a beautiful Monday morning and usually I'm pretty Oscar the Grouch on Monday's but today I feel pretty motivated. To do what exactly? Whatever comes along I'm ready to go!

How was the weekend? Anything interesting happen?

For me it was simple.

Friday after work I came home and watched the remnants of 2 houses across the street from me be completely removed and that was bitter sweet because the houses were vacant, one of them has been empty the whole 4 1/2 years we've lived in our current house. The second house has been vacant about a year unless you count the squatters that ripped out every usable thing in either house and then made it their home despite the boarded up windows, fences and police patrols. I guess one guy had something stashed in the chimney of house number 2 because he came back to get whatever it was and seemed utterly confused that the house was gone and decided that he would dig where the chimney was and see if he could find what he lost. They took those houses down fast within 3 days and next we know from experience the Pile Driver is coming next.

Blondunicorn sent me this as she watched everything fall. All of those lush trees are gone.

Our house is...old...I hope it stays standing through this.

I'm glad I wasn't home to see the old trees come down though, some of them were over 40 years old and provided a whole lot of the shade we had in our backyard. Summer is going to be brutal on the back deck this year. What I noticed though was how it messed up the wildlife that lived in the 2 yards. The squirrels and birds were completely screwed up, it was like squirrelmagedon in my backyard and I even watched one launch himself off of a stray cat that I'd never seen before and the cat seemed unfazed by this. Then the raccoon too now practically lives on my roof and coincidentally trapped me the other night so Allan had to save me because they are scared of...nothing!

Babysat the little man until he exhausted himself and passed out on the couch.

Sat was a trip running errands with Blondunicorn and my girls while we made people laugh with our car dancing. We've got to pass on the joy right or mild insanity whichever you prefer.

Then on to a mellow Sunday where the first BBQ of the season for us was had along with the first allergy attacks for me, Sese and Tasha.

With all of the beautiful weather we've had it's a shame that the next few days are full of rain but it's good that things can cool down a bit.

Back to the daily grind. Have a great week!

See Ya

Random & Not So Random

Happy...Tuesday?

Oy! Well at least I'm here and it's St. Patrick's Day!

Image result for st patrick's day clip art

I'm kind of tired today, slept like CRAP but it's not Monday and that's a bonus so this blog post will be a combination of many things oh so random and mostly related to each other because Spring is almost here and that brings my attention to a varied combination of things like last night and the insane Monday programming block that I had to wade through.

Bates Motel is back and getting so very disturbing not only because of Norman's character but because Ryan Hurst (SOA) has hit the show and he's pretty creepy. Almost as creepy as Brat Pitt's character in Kalifornia but not quite as murderous...that I know of anyway. Norma Bates is always my favourite to watch though.

The Following has caught me and even without Joe, the show still has me hooked if not for the story it's the music that draws me in and thanks to Blondunicorn showing me the Shazam music app, I can find out who sings what very quickly. In this episode A Drowning by  Whoever thought up that put them in the box story line had my disturbed meter piqued!

Gotham...is repeating...so...you suck.

The Returned this one I tried to watch previously and as the trailer for the show never told you it was in French and subtitled and I didn't want to have to read my show every week, but now there is an English version and that has me caught very well. It's also disturbing...it should be called Disturbing TV Monday because everyone is crazy.

I also heard this morning that The Walking Dead Companion series is going to be filmed in Vancouver!!!! There might be stalking in order. It comes out in the summer to bridge the gap between the end of TWD season 5 and 6. Now spin offs don't always do well but we have seen many that have as long as they don't go too far but I'm very interested to see where this goes. I wonder if Chris Hardwick will have an after show for this one too?

Fan Expo is coming in a few weeks and I'm very excited for that! I'm not eve sure who's going to be there yet but I'm going and if I see a guy dressed as Renly Baratheon then I know it's the SHAW cable guy that I talked to on the phone about Fan Expo last year in a random conversation while he waited for his screen to load and help me with whatever it was I called for.

I do have to  mention that on Friday night I had to try the Crown Royal Apple Whiskey and it was very good. Smells like Green Apple Jolly Ranchers but tastes like apple pie not unlike the CR Maple Syrup flavoured whiskey that smells like maple goodness but tastes like pancakes in your mouth. You know if they can bacon infuse vodka can they bacon infuse the Maple Whiskey? that would be the breakfast of whiskey champions!

It's time to get out and about people! I see people already taking pictures of cherry blossoms and planning weekend camping trips. Spring cleaning and purging begins! Tourists have already started to arrive in the city, with rolling luggage...ugh, and a Husky that was found with gravel in it's stomach and so thin that it was all bones found a home and is fatter...much, much fatter. makes me smile.

Tomorrow is Weird News Wednesday and of all of the weird stuff I see there will be something even weirder that someone will send me. I'm a little scared because it's been awhile since I could focus on the weird shit so be prepared!

Ok guys go have a wonderful day and a great week!

See ya

And Yet Another Gong Show...

Hi Lovelies!

It's been a while since I've used or talked about the gong show that is usually the kids zone in my house. Even though I still call them kids they're all adults now and with adulthood comes things that should be you know adult...like.

On Friday night I went out to one of our local pubs to see one of the boys for his birthday oh 23 (still a puppy). Myself, Blondunicorn and Choo went lightheartedly into a den of sheer stupidity...yes I said stupidity. In which case made it highly entertaining! Let me say that I did not drink, my body is still pissed at me for Christmas Eve so it was a sober night.

I did have 1 shot for the B-day boy and that was where it stopped.

The Pub wasn't pack in fact there wasn't many people there but then again we didn't show up until 11:30 and the Gong show had already begun buy then. Drunken girls throwing themselves at people who didn't want them. Drunken boys that were mildly aggressive and and my happy girl Bean that just loved everyone. I have to mention the...umm... weird bearded guy who name I have no clue what it was that was very entertaining in that creepy, silent, stalker kind of way. Why was it entertaining? Because you knew he was a regular from his interactions with other people and still in that creepy, silent, stalker sort of way and no one was concerned with his presence.

I found myself looking back to when I was that age and cringing at the thought. I was usually the one taking care of my friends whether I was drunk or not...usually...but to watch it in front of me with another generation all brought back memories of boys and girls doing the exact same thing and I was so glad that part of my life is gone. Don't get me wrong I know it's a rite of passage and some grow up and others don't. I'm hoping a few of these ones do! What I don't understand is

BOYS: Why the aggression? You drunken tiny testosterone full fools. ( I think I answered my own question )

GIRLS: I don't even know where to begin...

Oh wait! The girl that would walk around and use one or two boys like a yo-yo's.
Come here, come here, come here. Go away, go away, go away.

I had a hard time not walking up and shaking that one just to tell her to have some self respect. It's funny the things that we did or saw in youth and learned from.

Essentially though I'm a people watcher, I had a good time for the short period of time I was there and the kids made me laugh, really hard in some cases then took my Bean home for her to sleep it off.

Look at that, I got out of the house on a Friday night!
Wonders never cease.

Have a great week guys!

Farewell 2014...Good Riddance!

Ok I can't really say that...it was better that 2013 that's for sure. Slowly moving upward just too slow in some cases am I right?

How were your Holidays? Some of you I'm sure are still on holidays so in that case...you suck. Mine were unexpectedly painful simply because in this case...well... boys are dumb. I'm fine with a drink or two on Christmas Eve and do my baking and prep work for the Christmas Day while in between I'd watch The 100 for a girl at work so she has someone to talk about it with because no one she knows watches the show.

My plans were hijacked by a bottle of Appleton Estates ( give or take the other 2 bottles of I don't remember what ) a couple of shots glasses and the persistence of the boys that wanted to spread Christmas cheer through our home...and alcohol poisoning.

That on top of no food all day is the biggest mistake ever...I mean ever...no really...ever. The picture says it all.

There is a reason why people at my age don't drink like we're 20 anymore and it's because, WE'RE NOT 20 ANYMORE! Now as far as I can remember it was a fun time but the next day was not fun. Not fun at all and I will never drink like that again. Even though I was hungover as hell and almost didn't get the turkey in on time because the thought of it made my stomach roll, I did it and it all worked out really well. At least I wasn't the only one that had to deal with the pressures of a Christmas hangover. Bean had to nap all day on and off. Blondunicorn had to work from 3pm -11pm that day and was not looking forward to that at all but she made it.

Now the boys...lmao! I haven't seen one of them since that night and the other ( the whiner that started it all in the first place ) I was glad to hear that he barely survived the day too and has now said at his young age that he is done drinking for a while too!

My work is done...you have seen the errors of your ways, now stay away from me.

So besides it taking 2 days to recover everything was good and mellow while thoughts of the New Year ahead filled my brain. I love New Years Eve even if I'm at home watching retro videos with apple juice. This year though it's a game of Monopoly Empire where I'm going to prevent Blondunicorn from owning Coca-Cola while we ring in the new year all quiet and sober with only a glass at midnight and that is just fine with me.

I don't like Resolutions only because it's like as soon as it's out of your mouth it's destined to fail but it's safe to say that my only Resolution is to make the next year better and fabulous! All wrapped up with a nice little bow.

As my last post of 2014 I wish you all a Happy New Year be safe and all of that and I hope that everything you wish for comes true!

See Ya

The Season That Shall Not Be Named.

Happy Monday!

How happy is it really? That depends...is there coffee? If so then it's a good Monday.

I have to talk briefly about The Walking Dead! OMG! WTF! I can't believe that happened! Ok I'm done, no spoilers here.

I have taken to a new show though called Peaky Blinders now you guys in the UK only seem to have 6 episodes series' and with some shows it's just NOT ENOUGH! Cillian Murphy has always been a fave of mine but I absolutely love him in this. The show starts off just outside of London in 1919 and as I had a love for Boardwalk Empire it seems that period gangster shows also have my attention as much as Bikers, Zombies, Freaks and Starks. I'm always looking for the ones that are a rare find though like Penny Dreadful.

Ok Enough of that!

So as the season that shall not be named ( but will anyway below ) comes closer and horrifyingly closer it looks like it's time to start checking out the things that explode into being at this time of year. So that brings us to season of holiday lights, creative food and craft ideas and of course the Awful Gifts!

Bean has decorated our basement into a full Santa and Elf haven and you know it was a complete success because Blondunicorn cried at the site of her Angel on the top of the tree. There is glitter everywhere, in everything as Bean loves to make her own decorations and when any of the cats come upstairs they're all sparkly so, thanks to her homemade craftiness that is running rampant in the house it makes me want to do things like this...

So with all of that said I'm going to support local to start and give the season a shot as long as my own elves don't try and force the holiday cheer down my throat then maybe I'll try to find my holiday spirit and leave the bah humbugs behind.

Try...maybe...

Have a great week!
