More Than I Expected...

Hello Lovelies,

It's a short one today but here none the less.

I hope your holidays were everything you wanted them to be and if not then I hope it's better the next time around.

The city is light today lacking bodies and traffic so it's eerily quiet. The office is cold because the building shuts off the heat during the weekends and holidays but we have a heater on to toast things up in here. Seeing as I was almost 45 mins early for work today it's nice and quiet for me to get this out in time for you to wake up or in some places you're just getting home and settling in for the evening.

Christmas was more than I expected this year, even though I was an adult ( for most of it ) I almost felt the child I used to be way...way back when. Not for the excitement of the gifts but for feeling complete in family. I saw some that I hadn't seen or heard from in many years. There was the one that practically had to be dragged out of bed and nagged until he showed up ( but that's a normal thing ), a wayward pup back home for a few days so much more that filled me with reinforcement of appreciation for the people in my life.

That and the fact that almost every gift I gave made them happy! I mean visibly happy and ripping them open with smiles, hugs and exclamations of sheer joy. Except for ass dragger who waited until I left the room to open them so I never got to even see a reaction...jerk.

Way to take away a girls sense of accomplishment.

A bonus..I wasn't hung over this year so all food consuming and cooking went off without the need to throw up and that was outstanding! It's over though all that time and energy and STRESS and it's over for one more year.

Thank goodness.

So we all know how much I love New Years even if I'm on my couch watching cheesy 80's videos or bad B rated movies but my only resolution this new year is to get my shit together and make next year better than the last one. My year wasn't bad, I did things, I changed things and I rolled with it all.

Next year...is wide open.

Have a great week guys.

Happy New Year!

See Ya

Year End Is Coming!

Happy Friday!

With Xmas just around the corner in a few weeks and my shopping halfway done, it leaves my mind free to wander about the upcoming new year.

This year has gone by so fast and reflecting on what has happened and how to improve the next year comes along with it. Wanting to improve it doesn't always mean you can though. So I try to start small but I'm thinking that next year I'll just go big and all in.

2015 was my year to "Roll With It" and I did I took everything that happened in stride no matter how weird or uncomfortable it was, with the exception of going to Walmart in my PJ's with Blondunicorn and Bean because I'm sorry I just can't do it. The most I can do that way is hit a Tom Horton's drive thru in my slippers and only because who's going to see that! Unless she tried to make me get out of the car...but she wouldn't...out of fear.

Besides that it was go with the flow the whole way.

So the oncoming 2016 year is going to be the year to "Go Big." Instead of small steps towards making the year memorable it's going to have to be leaps and bounds! Within reason people! I know a few of you who are giggling like monkeys on crack right now but get whatever those thought are out of your head. There are many changes to come and many opportunities to make things happen, thank goodness for my patient and supportive group I have that will aid and abet my ideas without question.

Except Bean who not only has questions but finds every, single, possible loophole to just about anything.

Besides dabbling in photography and the strides I've made with my writing, it's time to buckle down and take the time to do all of the various things that consume my world and there are just so many!

What's life if you're not going to live it, right?

With that said Monday begins the Awful Xmas Gift line up and unlike my failure for Halloween These should go off without a hitch. If you have any suggestions or memories of gifts you received that were either less than appropriate or just ridiculous let me know. Pictures would be even better.

Now I have a work party to go watch people get drunk at!

Have a good weekend

See Ya

Farewell 2014...Good Riddance!

Ok I can't really say that...it was better that 2013 that's for sure. Slowly moving upward just too slow in some cases am I right?

How were your Holidays? Some of you I'm sure are still on holidays so in that case...you suck. Mine were unexpectedly painful simply because in this case...well... boys are dumb. I'm fine with a drink or two on Christmas Eve and do my baking and prep work for the Christmas Day while in between I'd watch The 100 for a girl at work so she has someone to talk about it with because no one she knows watches the show.

My plans were hijacked by a bottle of Appleton Estates ( give or take the other 2 bottles of I don't remember what ) a couple of shots glasses and the persistence of the boys that wanted to spread Christmas cheer through our home...and alcohol poisoning.

That on top of no food all day is the biggest mistake ever...I mean ever...no really...ever. The picture says it all.

There is a reason why people at my age don't drink like we're 20 anymore and it's because, WE'RE NOT 20 ANYMORE! Now as far as I can remember it was a fun time but the next day was not fun. Not fun at all and I will never drink like that again. Even though I was hungover as hell and almost didn't get the turkey in on time because the thought of it made my stomach roll, I did it and it all worked out really well. At least I wasn't the only one that had to deal with the pressures of a Christmas hangover. Bean had to nap all day on and off. Blondunicorn had to work from 3pm -11pm that day and was not looking forward to that at all but she made it.

Now the boys...lmao! I haven't seen one of them since that night and the other ( the whiner that started it all in the first place ) I was glad to hear that he barely survived the day too and has now said at his young age that he is done drinking for a while too!

My work is done...you have seen the errors of your ways, now stay away from me.

So besides it taking 2 days to recover everything was good and mellow while thoughts of the New Year ahead filled my brain. I love New Years Eve even if I'm at home watching retro videos with apple juice. This year though it's a game of Monopoly Empire where I'm going to prevent Blondunicorn from owning Coca-Cola while we ring in the new year all quiet and sober with only a glass at midnight and that is just fine with me.

I don't like Resolutions only because it's like as soon as it's out of your mouth it's destined to fail but it's safe to say that my only Resolution is to make the next year better and fabulous! All wrapped up with a nice little bow.

As my last post of 2014 I wish you all a Happy New Year be safe and all of that and I hope that everything you wish for comes true!

See Ya

Happy New Year! 2014 Let's Hope You're a Good One!

Did you have a good New Years?

Let's see... now I'm all willy nilly with the posts as I've decided, why the need for a post once a week when I can just do them any day anytime! Mind you in the Winter there's just less to talk about because there's less to do besides cozy up and watch Winter Previews!

The Following
Justified
Banshee
Bitten ( New show... I read the books )

To name a few and the return of other shows off the break!

American Horror Story Coven
Grimm
The Walking Dead ( Not back till FEB 9th! This saddens me! )

Now as excited as I am for those I'm even more excited because the next season is SPRING and things will be warming up...eventually...after the Jan & Feb freeze fest but our weather hasn't been that bad so far it was kind of warm yesterday! That just means the worst of it is on it's way but still hoping for a mild winter. My outside plants are confused and because the ground hasn't completely frozen and some of them are trying to bud. That is not normal at all!

There's still Squirrels running around, Chickadees chirping and BUGS! The one and ONLY thing I love about Winter is the lack of bugs because it's too cold! So far that is not happening.

What new things await us this year??? I don't know and I've made the mistake in asking for suggestions...

The requests for me to do strange things is well, really strange like Messy Twister (sounds like something you do with a significant other... or a porn star)? and Human Foosball???

Apparently the stranger the request, the better or... the better for me to emphatically wave my arms and say no to! This will be interesting.

I hope you all had a great New Years and that 2014 is a good year for you. I hope it is for me since I was told to stand on my right foot at midnight to start the year off right. I hope that works!

See Ya

2014...I'm At Your Mercy or Maybe You're At Mine?

2014 is almost here!

You guys know me and how out of the Holiday Season, I love New Year's Eve. The idea that everything can start fresh and you almost get a clean slate for the next however long it is before I screw it up and the year goes to shit.

Now I don't set out to mess it up and the universe doesn't always work with me in these instances so I just fix what I can and ride out what I can't. Unfortunatley every year you hear stuff like:

I'm going to eat better!...Ya right, for a week.

I'm going to excercise!...When you get off the couch to go to the fridge.

I'm going to quit smoking...Then it's like the excorcist and your possessed until people are throwing lit cigarettes at you.
Ect, ect... you get what I mean. Then you hear stuff like:

You need to set realistic goals for yourself in order to accomplish them...
...

True, but shut up!

I'm entitled to try and fail right? I mean at least I tried! Not that I want to complain for another year about my body shape or the fact that for 1 week a month I'll consume enough gummy candy that my stomach hates me and there's another 10lbs of gelatin and mineral oil cascading through my body. (So, ok that's not a good thing)

If I ate right for the 3 weeks before that and then ate that crap, you'd have to put me in a corner until the shakes passed and hand me things you'd like shaken not stirred.

Little doses people little doses, moderation is the key!

Don't get me wrong...I admire those people that can set their mind to their goals and get them done! I wish I had a smidgen of that discipline but just a smidgen. I like spontaniously deciding that I'm going to attempt to eat a whole cheesecake to myself, even though I'm allergic to dairy and I get so itchy I want to rip my skin off. That's what Benadryl is for! (I only try that like once a year)

Every Year I tell myself I'm just going to live better, less stress and try new things. That's general enough right? Get the courage to break old routines/habits and start new ones, better ones? So thinking that way, I do accomplish my New Year's promises to myself. It just has to be interesting enough or I lose the motivation to continue. Now I have some things that are at a lull but not given up on yet they've just been on standby so to speak.

So this year I'll try again with something new and something old that I haven't accomplished yet and drive myself and everyone crazy with it.

I'm glad the people in my life just roll with it and know that when I do end up in the padded room I expect them to come visit me.
.
..with candy, lots and lots of candy.

See Ya!
